As a Singer
Mohanlal debuted as a singer in the movie Onnanam Kunnil Oradi Kunnil with the song Sindooramegham Shringaarakaavyam composed by Raghu Kumar in 1985. His most famous songs are Thakilu Pukilu (2001), Ithaloornnu Veena (2005), and Attumanal Payayil (2012) to name a few.

- He was a professional wrestler before he ventured into the film industry. He won the state wrestling championship of Kerala in 1978.
- Mohanlal is the highest paid actor in the Malayalam film industry.
- He trained to be an escape artist for 18 months in secrecy under magician Gopinath Muthukad.
- Mohanlal is also an entrepreneur and owns some businesses including film production and distribution companies, restaurants, and packaged spices. He also holds restaurants in India and overseas which he plans to expand further.
